Warm Weather and Water Safety Advice |
||
|
With warm weather forecast across Dyfed-Powys, Please be advised of the following safety advice:
🌊Water Safety: Whether at the coast, rivers or reservoirs, please take extra care. Cold water shock, strong currents and hidden hazards can put even strong swimmers at risk. Follow RNLI advice. https://rnli.org/safety
🔥BBQ's and campfires: If you are using a BBQ or campfire please ensure that it is placed on a flammable surface and never left unattended. Fully extinguish it before leaving. Embers can stay hot for hours and easily start grass or woodland fires. They can also cause injury.
☀️Heat Safety: Stay hydrated, use shade, and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day.
👵Look out for the vulnerable: Check in on elderly neighbours, people living alone and anyone who may struggle in the heat.
🐶Dogs in cars: Never leave a dog in a vehicle during warm weather. Even a short time can be life threatening. Call 999 if a dog is in distress.
Thank you for helping keep our communities safe.
